Kansas City kicked off the year in concerts last Monday with Margaret Glaspy, Andrew Bird, and The Lumineers taking over the city’s largest venue, the Sprint Center. Each act brought immense talent and passion to the stage, and the audience couldn’t get enough. The support on this tour alone is enough to make you want to go. Margaret Glaspy introduced the evening right. Her indie folk style combined with her raw, raspy voice blew the crowd away. Following her, Andrew Bird’s unique folk rock impressed the audience, as intense applause ruptured after each song. Of course, The Lumineers made the night unforgettable. This band’s big sound had an equally big stage production to go with it, consisting of two stages and beautiful organ pipes raised above the main stage. The 20-song setlist flowed eloquently and felt like a dream the entire time.
