This past weekend, I found myself in my old college town of San Marcos, Texas. San Marcos is known for its party atmosphere, but I was there for a specific reason: the town’s only major music festival, Float Fest.
For those that are not familiar with “floating”, it’s generally a chance to enjoy a couple (or 10) cold brews with your buddies, all while floating down a serene river in the comfort of an inflatable inner tube.
With this in mind, Float Fest combines a few major things we love most here in the Lone Star state — music, tubin’ and boozin’, making this niche music festival truly “Central Texas”.
Day 1 and 2 passes granted attendees weekend access to camping, floating, and music. The festival brought the likes of both local and big-name artists, including Chromeo, Santigold, Future Islands, Metric, Big Gigantic, Bleachers, Yeasayer, Slim Thug, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Fat Tony, Riders Against The Storm, Blue, the Misfit, Holiday Mountain, Auto Body, and more.
