Global Dance has become a staple EDM festival in Denver. 2017 was arguably the best iteration of the festival yet. While it was sad to see the festival leave its former home of Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the move became a clear win within seconds of entering the festival grounds. The new location at Sports Authority Field at Mile High offered more space allowing more attendees, more performers, and more attractions than ever before.
The energy was electric from the jump. Denver natives TSA were among the first performers to grace the main stage opening the festival with grooving trance vibes. The festival then went from vibey to 100 real quick when Spock took the main stage. His energetic performance and fresh visuals were embraced by a rail full of headbangers and crowd of bass heads eager to let loose. Other stand-out sets worth noting on day one include Team EZY’s intimate and lively showcase and Two Owls’ incredibly hype performance. One of the most notable and universally loved sets of the day was Ephwurd. Kaskade delivered as always but at the end of day one we found ourselves glued to the Northern Lights stage as Herobust delivered an energetic mosh pit infused headlining set that started strong and never let up.
Day two was a sold out event. Some of our favorite sets of the day were Crankdat and Excision and Datsick’s legendary back-to-back performance. We were happily surprised when Dion Timmer made a guest appearance during the back-to-back set. We hope to see his return at future Global Dance Events.
Global Dance was an incredible experience. We can’t wait to see what coming for next year. If you’re like us and just can’t wait til next year, go ahead and make plans to be a part of Denver’s biggest New Years celebration with Global Dance’s NYE party “Decadence” which will surely be announced soon.
