Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson have joined forces once again for the Twins of Evil – The Second Coming Tour. I really can’t say enough how rad it is to be up close, photographing some of your childhood heroes. Considering the couple of show cancelations for weather and sickness at the beginning of the tour, I was a little worried about them making it to Austin. But all was well, and they both killed it. Zombie and Manson showed no signs of slowing down, even in that 100-degree Texas weather.
Manson started the show with “Cruci-Fiction In Space”. He brought out the podium for “Antichrist Superstar” and ended his set with “Beautiful People”. I will say, I have seen more theatrical performances from Manson in the past and was expecting something a little more over the top and on par with Rob Zombie’s performance.
Rob Zombie’s set was super fun as always with his energetic stage presence, crazy lights, leather fringe jackets, gargoyle mic stands and a giant dancing robot. The show started with “Meet the Creeper, Super Beast” and his wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, and Danny Trejo came out to promote his new film 3 From Hell.
Overall, it was a great time. I wish Manson would bring back more costumes and different stage setups, but maybe those days are behind him.
