MEB Editor Maria Gironas got a chance to ask some questions to singer-songwriter Marie Miller. Check out the interview below!
Describe yourself in 10 words!
Marie Miller:A believer that each person deserves to be unconditionally loved
What’s your earliest music memory?
MM: Playing a song called “I like dogs” on the piano about age five.
How did you formally decide you wanted to pursue a career in the music industry?
MM: I had been performing since I was a little kid, but it wasn’t till my early twenties that I finally decided to just go for it.
What kind of reaction did you get after your song was featured on Dancing with the stars?
MM: It was great to get such a positive response. Fans were so excited, and it was great to make some new fans.
Congrats on signing with Curb! What has changed since signing with the label?
MM: The label has really helped open a lot of doors for me. It’s a great gift to have so much help.
What was the inspiration behind your EP?
MM: The EP is simply a collection of my favorite tunes I’ve been playing out on the road.
Was their a track in particular that was more challenging to write?
MM: No actually. Each song was very easy to write and record. All these songs are songs I’ve been playing for years, so it makes things easy.
Is there a full album in the works?
MM: Yes! It’s all recorded now.
What do you hope each track off the EP captures to your listeners?
MM: I hope that my listeners are both inspired and entertained by the songs on the EP. Some of these songs are more playful and fun, but a couple of them are truly trying to convey a message. I hope both the fun songs and the message songs bring joy to my listeners.
