The Scoop: Pretty Flacko went on Instagram to reveal the artwork for his upcoming album At. Long. Last. A$AP. The cover shows A$AP Rocky not only sporting heavy rings, but most importantly donning the black cross tattoo and purple mark which pays homage to the late A$AP Yams.
The co-founder of the A$AP Mob was only 26-years old when an accidental drug overdose took his life on January 18, 2015. Since then multiple A$AP brothers as well as other hip-hop figures have expressed pain and sorrow through interviews and social media in regards to Yams’ unexpected death.
The Spin: Rocky’s debut album Long.Live.ASAP was not only praised by critics, but also did big numbers and spawned multiple singles that put the Harlem artist on a higher level. The three singles from his upcoming project are “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2,” “M’s” and his most recent “Everyday” featuring Miguel, Mark Ronson and Rod Stewart… Not kidding.
From the singles you can hear that the “Purple Swag” rapper hasn’t abandoned his grimy, lo-fi, dirty but somehow clean aesthetic that sets him apart from the rest of the hip-hop genre. The filthy under the fingernail raps is what makes Rocky one of the most unique artists in the game, we hope he brings that wave back on At.Long.Last.A$AP.
