Bandhappy.com is a brand new website that allows musicians to teach aspiring students, either one-on-one online via it’s custom-built video chat system or in-person while they are on tour. It will teach beginning musicians how to play basically any instrument and even goes beyond that by other aspects of music, such as music business and production.
Beginning on January 5th, 2012 at 11 a.m. eastern time, you will be able to register for this innovative and unique experience! For information on how to register as either a student or teacher, please click on this link (http://www.youtube.com/user/BandhappyTube?feature=watch) to view both in-depth videos on how to register as a teacher and as a student.
Founded by Periphery drummer Matt Halpern, this site is aimed to re-shape how people will be able to learn directly from the very people that inspire them to play. Boasting an absolutely incredible roster of teachers, a small list of them include:
Tosin Abasi (Animals as Leaders), Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean Band), Gil Sharone (Stolen Babies), Jeff Loomis (Nevermore), Matt Halpern (Periphery), Ben Weinman (Dillinger Escape Plan), Mike Mowery (Outerloop MGMT), Chris Adler (Lamb of God), Willie Adler (Lamb of God), AJ Minette (The Human Abstract), Evan Brewer (The Faceless), Paul Waggoner (Between the Buried and Me), Rody Walker (Protest the Hero), Peter Wichers (Soilwork), Louis Cato (Marcus Miller Band), Spencer Sotelo (Periphery), and many more.
Musicians can use Bandhappy for instant access to a readily available pool of students so they can teach whenever they want, however they want, wherever they want. The touring musicians who created Bandhappy have made it hassle-free for both students and teachers. Everything from scheduling to payment is handled seamlessly on their easy to navigate and user-friendly site.
In a time where the music world has been suffering lately (mainly due to piracy), this is the sort of thing that bands need to breathe new life into both the band and the public. This can be the beginning of a huge boom of new and talented musicians waiting to wreck havoc onto the ears of the world.
