The Scoop: Rock outfit Bayside is being forced to stop using their iconic bird logo due to a Mexican telecommunications company trademarking the logo before the band could. You can check out a video statement from the band explaining the situation below.
The Spin: It has been brought to our attention that frotnman Anthony Renari posted about the company over four years ago via his personal Tumblr account saying:
“this stupid company used our logo. I don’t know if it’s calling cards or pre paid cell phone cards or what. I’m sure they just came across our logo in a google image search for birds or something and used it. We’re trying to find the company because they are in Mexico or maybe South America somewhere but we’re on it. We just gotta ask them to stop. that’s all”
The Question: What do you think of the band being forced to change the logo? What do you think they’ll resort to for their new direction?Let us know in the comments below!
