The Scoop: South African rock outfit CrashCarBurn have released a new single called “Rock ‘n Roll Reverie”.
The Spin: CrashCarBurn have come far in the past 15 years. They came from the humble beginnings of Tweak and propelled themselves to new heights beneath that moniker. The success they found resulted in airplay on MTV and being able to tour Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and United Kingdom. This success allowed them to pack-up their bags and move to the UK in 2004- only to be forced to change their name to CrashCarBurn due to legal reasons.
In 2007, the band moved back to South Africa where they rapidly established themselves as one of the leading names in the South African rock scene. They’ve played all the major festivals and have opened for numerous bands such as Chris Cornell, Good Charlotte, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, OK Go and Thirty Seconds to Mars.
Two years after the release of their third album, beneath the moniker CrashCarBurn, they have returned yet again with their new single “Rock ‘n Roll Reverie”. The song, as the title suggests, is a reflection on the past 15 years and just how much they love being in a band. The band aptly describes it as being about “being in a band. It’s about 15 years of touring, recording, fighting, sleeping on floors, partying, getting hurt and having the best time of our lives.” It is an electrifying blast of delicately crafted pop punk that proves why CrashCarBurn continue to be at the forefront of the South African rock scene.
