The Scoop: Melodic hardcore outfit Forbearance has removed their vocalist, Jordan Kuruc, after he posted an extremely offensive tweet in response to Matt Cooke being ejected from the Boston – Bruins hockey game that took place this past Saturday night. The tweet has since been removed, however, you can view a screenshot of it below.
The band quickly responded with releasing an official statement via Facebook later that night, which removed Kuruc from the band indefinitely. You can read the statement below.
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
It’s come to my attention that our singer has said something very inappropriate via social media that is incredibly out of line. (In fact, I just woke up to this backlash.) The statement he made is in NO way shape or form representative of ANY view this band has and even though I personally have nothing to do with what he said, I feel the need to apologize to anyone offended by his ignorant statement. Because of this, Jordan is now removed from this band. Thank you to the people that have brought this to our attention, and again, our apologies that you had to be exposed to such ignorance.
Kuruc soon responded with an apology tweet, which stated that he was sorry and he should’ve never brought a tragedy into his dissatisfaction with the game. You can check out the full tweet below:
What I have said tonight was uncalled for its just a game and I should never bring a tragedy into it!

The Spin: As humans, we tend to allow our emotions to run rapid – and social networking has only exemplified that. People feel as though they can say more behind a computer screen, rather than to someone’s face. Unfortunately, this has the potential to lead to something such as the situation at hand. There’s an age old adage that goes, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all.” It’s 2013 people, grow up.
The Question: What do you make of the whole situation? Do you think the band made the right decision to remove Kuruc? Let us know in the comments below!
