Well, at long last the wait is almost over. K Sera‘s Collisions and Near Misses releases in just under a week and it’s been a long time coming. Since their leaving the studio in 2012, things were relatively tame but now we eagerly await the future of the band. Included among this, of course, is the new album, but also a spot in Austin, Texas’s annual SXSW festival – an exciting opportunity for the band and fans alike. However, with this comes the price of traversing across the country, but that’s where fans can come in.
Get My Band is a site that is geared towards bringing fans to cities (think KickStarter or IndieGoGo for tours) and K Sera are already putting it to good use. With an outstanding amount already funded, the band needs just a little push to ensure their arrival, and by extension, their performance. But like KickStarter and other crowd funding, the band has the ability to provide incentives and rewards for pledges. Unlike most though, K Sera have added some outright ridiculous values, including physical copies of EPs, a collection of unreleased material, guitar lessons for any K Sera song, and even a song written for you. So the chance to purchase rare, specialized items and bring the band to a major festival to perform is really killing two birds with one stone. You’ll definitely want to see them performing their amazing new material.
Collisions and Near Misses is to be released February 26th via Burning House Records. You can catch K Sera at The Taproom in Austin, Texas for SXSW on Friday, March 15th, 2013.
If you can, please pledge!
