UPDATE: Nailed it. Woe, Is Me have officially announced Hance Alligood (ex-Oh, Manhattan as their new vocalist.
We’ve been keeping you posted on ex-Oh, Manhattan vocalist Hance Alligood joining Woe, Is Me as their new singer non-stop. Yet another piece of interesting backstory has arisen from the past of Alligood that strongly suggests he’s joined some
new old friends in Woe, Is Me.
From 2008 to 2010, the band A Path Less Traveled (APLT) ruled local Atlanta venues. While the band never hit the big time, there were two notable members: Carter and current Woe, Is Me screamer Michael Bohn, pictured below. All research suggests that this was the last group Carter and Bohn participated with before leaving to join Austin Thornton’s formation of Woe, Is Me.
The band recorded some material with the duo before they split to join Woe, Is Me. Here’s “An Eye For An Eye Makes Us All Pirates,” which is still available for free download on the APLT Purevolume Page.
Here’s the interesting part. After going through other incarnations of the band, APLT found a suitable replacement to cover all vocal duties: Hance Alligood. It appears the band never recorded with Alligood, though he was part of the final version of APLT. Below is the final press photo released by the band, with Hance standing front and center.
That’s right; Hance Alligood has already replaced Tyler Carter once. With Alligood’s recorded music catalog only consisting of Oh, Manhattan’s upcoming debut record, there’s no great direct comparison track to judge how he’ll fit in with Woe, Is Me. For those of your looking for a sneak peek of what it will look like for Hance and Michael Bohn to share the stage, watch the video below from A Path Less Traveled’s one-off reunion show (excuse the atrocious audio quality).
