UPDATE: Apparently this was all a stunt by Craig. He recently posted the following on his facebook: “Im just playing around hahaha i wanted to see how fast the shit would be posted on all the sites hahahaha OF course im not quitting music im recording new songs a few demos this week hopfully. I guess im also looking for a new manager since mine wont get back to me. so anyone interested listen to my new stuff ill be putting out and lets get to work.”
After being caught allegedly using heroin earlier in the week, Jonny Craig is back in the headlines yet again.
In a Facebook status posted earlier tonight, Craig announced that he would no longer be making music and that he would not be changing his mind, as he did after a similar announcement last year. In a later post, he would also state “MY CAREER IS OVER.”
This also comes after news that Craig would not be touring with Dance Gavin Dance during this month’s tour and that his vocals would be replaced by both tour-mate Kurt Travis, formerly of Dance Gavin Dance and currently singing for A Lot Like Birds, and Matt Geise, the former vocalist for Lower Definition.
Though Dance Gavin Dance maintains the stance that Craig is not kicked out of the band and simply can’t tour, it is heavily rumored that Craig is unable to return to America due to legal troubles and is instead residing in his native-country, Canada, putting the future of Dance Gavin Dance in jeopardy.
