Philadelphia’s own Marian Hill released their first full length album, Act One earlier this year, but they are back with a new song with Lauren Jauregui Of Fifth Harmony called “Back To Me.”
The song itself from a production standpoint displays some of the trademark characteristics of a Marian Hill song, noting the sultry 808’s and electronic sampling. Lead Singer Samantha Gongol and Jauregui both trade vocals in a organic collaboration that showcases Jauregui solo and continues Marian Hill’s sultry take on R&B.
About the song, Jauregui comments, “Sam and Jeremy are such talented creatives and I was such a huge fan of theirs before we even met. Being able to form a genuine connection with them and then write together on this track was such an honor. I’m happy to be able to give people a snippet of my vibe for the first time in collaboration with them. I’m very proud of this track so I hope everyone enjoys it.”
The band continues, “Ever since we first met Lauren at our show at the Roxy over a year ago, we’ve been talking about making something together. Somehow, in the midst of both of our schedules, we managed to make it happen. ‘Back To Me’ began with the two of us on a plane and Lauren in a hotel room, ending with the recording in Jeremy’s bedroom. It has been our jam for the past several months. Now it belongs to you.”
