The Scoop: Freedom Festival is announced to take place next year.
The Spin: Next year shall see the festival debut of Freedom Festival – a festival that was recently announced to be taking place in April of next year. Few details are known about the festival but this is what we do know:
Firstly, Freedom Festival shall be taking place at two venues: Supersport Park in Pretoria and the Ostrich Ranch in Cape Town. It shall also be a one-day festival, although the precise dates have not been announced.
Secondly, the expected line-up is said to be three international acts backed by ten local acts. This is calls for some brilliant international talent visiting South Africa’s shores and having only the best local acts to perform alongside.
Thirdly, only three bands have been announced so far. The infectious indie melodies of The Plastics shall be gracing the stage and giving festival attendees something to groove to. The the edgy Afrikaans electro-rap musings of Bittereinder shall also be present while Cape Town’s very own Celtic metal-heads Haggis and Bong shall be tearing up the stage.
More details are still to follow. Until then, follow Freedom Festival on Facebook and Twitter for more updates and keep glued to Mind Equal Blown for the latest news. Alternatively, you can check out what each band has to offer below.
