The Scoop: In an amazing gesture, Ontario-based rock & roller Jamie Clarke, AKA Myrle, is selling advanced copies of his new album A Dozen Hearts a full month ahead of its official October 17th release date. The reason? 100% of the proceeds are going to a family desperately in need of help. Myrle posted the full story on Facebook, which you can read below:
Ok folks! Tomorrow I am picking up my shipment of CD’s for my new album “A Dozen Hearts” (out Oct 17th). Some people have been asking about early releases so this is how we are going to do it.
Long story is; Dale McLaren and Cara Arnold are a couple originally from South River (my hometown). They are high school sweethearts who now have a young family. The sad part is that Dale needs a heart transplant. He can no longer drive or work and has a lot of appointments. Cara has to take the time off work so that she can get him to these necessary appointments. Basically they are struggling and I thought of a way that we could all help.
If anyone is interested in purchasing my album early from Sept 17th until I release it on Oct 17th I will sell you a copy for $50. All the money will go straight to this family and their plight. PM me for copies and I will deliver them personally to anyone in the Muskoka area or mail them and we can etransfer the money.
If you would rather wait until the 17th no problem, but if you would be so kind as to share this post it would be greatly appreciated.
The Spin: We at Mind Equals Blown fully support Jamie and his efforts and encourage everyone reading to donate if you can, or help spread the word around social media. If you’re interested and want to hear some music, check out “Soap Box Preacher,” the first single from A Dozen Hearts below.
