What are Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy/Decaydance Records/Ashlee Simpson fame and ex-Chiodos frontman Craig Owens toasting to? Apparently, they’ve concocted something that may or may not be a new band featuring both personalities. Here’s a Twitter timeline of our evidence to date:
Nov. 27 11:50 pm – Craig Owen’s tweet: “Staying with one of my closest friends John Feldman for the next few days. Starting to write the best record of all time.”
Nov. 27 6:07 pm – Pete Wentz’s tumblr: “haha. hard to make out in the picture. but yeah just went out to a music store and bought my own bass. cos i dont have any instruments in ny and i gotta get some shiz down fast. def goofy to buy your own signature model on black friday. i blame this all on @craigeryowens”
Nov. 27, 6:19 pm – Craig Owen’s tweet: “hmm… i wonder what Pete was referring to in that last tweet of his… you guys got any ideas ?”
Nov. 30, 10:39 am – Craig Owen’s tweet: “vocal booth again! haven’t screamed in a long time- feels so good! this new stuff has such heavy parts! can’t wait for you all to hear it!”
Nov. 30, 5:14 pm – Pete Wentz’s tweet: “Opening night. The head to la to help out collaborate on a song and hopefully catch a few shows while I’m there.”
Dec 3, 1:00 am – Pete Wentz’s tweet: “Craig wentz / pete owens coming soon?”
Well, it sure seems like they’re working on something together. We know Craig is laying down vocals, we know Wentz bought a new bass and blames Craig, we know Wentz is currently in the area of Craig’s next few shows. I’ll be at the Cinematic Sunrise show Craig referenced in his last tweet, so be sure to check back after the show to see what the hell these maniacs are talking about.
