The Westboro Baptist Church has added another item to the list of things they will protest: rock concerts.
The controversial, independent Baptist church, popular for protesting funerals of men killed for being homosexual, Jewish communities and funerals of children killed in the Tucson shooting, picketed last night’s Less Than Jake show in Pensacola, Fl.
Drummer Vinnie Fiorello announced the mind-boggling news through a tweet, saying, “Why would Westboro Baptist Church protest a Less Than Jake show? #3out5membersloveanalandtheother2lovesatan.”
Saxophonist Peter “JR” Wasilewski tweeted “we had religious protesters at our show tonight. FUCKIN AWESOME!!”
The headline-making church, led by Fred Phelps and his family, has protested concerts in the past, picketing an All Time Low show in Philadelphia in 2009. A reason for this particular protest has yet to be given by the church.
