The last time I had the pleasure of witnessing a show at Underground Arts in Philadelphia, it was an “acoustic” performance from Grouplove and The Rubens which exploded into simply a smaller version of their usual huge live show. When I heard that letlive. and Architects UK were to co-headline the small venue with Glass Cloud and I the Mighty in tow, I knew to expect madness. Every band had something purely their own to bring to the table: I the Mighty’s sing-along-able lyrics got everyone pumped up to start, Glass Cloud’s technical blasting made the room explode, Architects’ wide discography made for an increasingly entertained crowd, and letlive. simply brought their all in usual fashion.
I had the pleasure of photographing this show, yet I and my photographical counterparts were unable to shoot letlive. A theory was simply that the venue was so small and frontman Jason Butler is so wild that safety could be a major concern. I was able to snag two photos of letlive. before I was asked to leave towards the crowd. The full set of the show can be seen below!
