It wouldn’t be Austin Carlile if he didn’t start off the new year with ridiculousness. As announced on AltPress.com, the screamer has returned to Of Mice & Men, which called meant the unceremonious firing of of current screamer Jerry Roush.
In honor of the arrogance and atrocities, I’ve compiled a timeline of events.
February 11, 2010: via AbsolutePunk.net, Carlile revealed that he would not tour with OM&M while he underwent heart surgery. Roush was asked to fill-in until Carlile’s recovery was complete.
March 9, 2010: Of Mice & Men’s self-titled debut album releases.
March 31, 2010: the girlfriend of OM&M bassist Jaxin Hall claims in a blog that Carlile has been kicked out of the band.
April 1, 2010: Carlile responds to the accusations; his position in OM&M is unclear.
April 3, 2010: The official seperation of Carlile and OM&M. From his Twitter: “This is my official statement. I, Austin Carlile, quit Of Mice & Men.”
April 5, 2010: OM&M acknowledges Carlile’s departure; band names Jerry Roush permanent vocalist.
April 2010 – August 2010: Tons of touring, included Warped Tour.
August 11, 2010: Jaxin Hill quits OM&M to focus on his clothing company.
August 2010 – January 2011: Tons of touring.
January 3, 2011: Carlile returns to OM&M; Roush is fired.
