KC Bundled Up for Sweater Weather with The Neighbourhood

By Ashleigh Lee · On November 20, 2019

Sweater weather came early to Kansas City as Los Angeles-based rock band The Neighbourhood closed out its Middle of Somewhere tour at Arvest Bank Theater at the Midland. Lead singer Jesse Rutherford donned a silver bodysuit and face paint as he played acoustic guitar in front of a closed curtain for the opening song “Middle of Somewhere.” While mistaking Kansas City for St. Louis, the crowd seemed fairly forgiving as the band continued to perform – all dressed in matching silver suits.

Despite only playing two songs from their debut album I Love You., the band intricately wove in songs from their discography like “R.I.P. 2 My Youth” and “You Get Me So High.” The show began to close their most famous song, “Sweater Weather,” followed by “24/7” and “Stuck with Me.”

The band will go on tour in Europe in early 2020.
