It’s hard to do anything while you’re sick, but Thrice frontman Dustin Kensrue played in front of a completely sold out Concord Music Hall in Chicago on Friday, Jan. 31. Kensrue powered through a 14-song setlist despite the apparent illness he was fighting.
Finishing up the first week of tour in the dead of winter, the band shared the stage with Hot Fawn, Drug Church, and mewithoutYou in front of a hyped crowd. The show sold out a full month before coming to town and celebrates the 15th anniversary of Thrice’s Vheissu album. It was an emotional night with many people connecting to the songs and environment.
Philly-based mewithoutYou joined Thrice as they embark on their last year of touring before going into retirement. Together the band has released seven albums in their 20-year history and is known for their spoken-word vocals and storytelling lyrics.
Check out the rest of the tour, now playing through February.

Parents teach children discipline for two different, indeed diametrically opposed, reasons: to render the child submissive to them and to make him independent of them. Only a self-disciplined person can be obedient; and only such a person can be autonomous.
I Like this show which is performing in Chicago but I also want to see it with my own eyes.
