With heavy hearts, fans bid farewell last week to the final Vans Warped Tour in New York.
The day was bittersweet. Fans lined up hours before running into the massive venue. As per tradition, everyone stormed the Vans tent to see on the inflatable lineup when their favorite bands were playing.
While there were a ton of new up-and-comers like Grayscale, Broadside, and Keep Flying drawing major crowds, my personal favorite moments were seeing the bands I grew up seeing at Warped Tour play the Journey’s stages one last time. Mayday Parade and The Maine drew thousands of fans, playing mid-day and providing the perfect dose of nostalgia while still playing hits off of their respective latest albums.
3oh!3 was a surprising highlight of the day. I wasn’t sure what to expect from their set, but was absolutely blown away by their energy and exciting stage present. Their set felt like a party, with everyone still at the show coming together to celebrate 10 years of their album Want and the final Warped Tour.
Finally, Simple Plan took the stage. They were the last band of the night at the Long Island date of the tour, and they closed the show out with a band. Playing favorites like “Addicted,” “I’m Just a Kid,” and “Perfect,” it felt like a truly perfect (pun intended) way to close out the final Vans Warped Tour. Check out the photos above.
