With a literal ocean of electronic artists and an endlessly restocked library of new hits, sometimes you need to cut through the noise to add some top picks to your playlists. Hype electronica has a special place in all robots’ hearts as it holds the tempo of what makes them tic, so here are my top five hype EDM songs sure to amp anyone up for their next show.
Noisestorm – “Breakdown VIP”

Noisestorm has a way with music and there is no doubt about that. With a ratcheting build up into what can only be described as a keytar solo on ecstasy, this song has what it takes to amp you up. “Breakdown VIP” expertly uses two lull periods to flex its intensity muscles and give us the sweet drop we require to keep our heads rocking.
Excision, Datsik & Dirtyphonics – Deviance (Dirtyphonics remix)

With two incredibly well-known artists working on a project like Excision and Datsik, Dirtyphonics just had to come in and tie up the loose ends to create a truly adrenaline pumping beat. This is the song you hear when a final boss enters the playing field after what you thought was the end of the game (with gearing up sound effects to boot!). With a perfect blend of wobble and high beats per minute, this song’s one relaxed span highlights the pace and ferocity of the rest. It’s hard not to rock back and forth to this one.
Nitro Fun – “New Game”

Another popular song presented by the Moinstercat label, Nitro Fun is known for its video game esque sound repertoire and there are some very familiar sounds jammed into this track. This song is a smorgasbord of gritty dubstep sounds paired with more upbeat traditional drum and base and synth soundscapes. Synth notes lead us down an electronic journey underlined by a distinct snare to a familiar video game world with this one.
Stonebank & Concept – “Chokehold”

Similar to the vibe of more traditional dubstep, Stonebank gives us a taste of a British rap lyrics to highlight its main drop and chorus instrumental. “Chokehold” is what I expect seeing a live performing electronic band might sound like. They have all the necessary pieces for a five-person group to take up and carve out their own nonexistent electronic instruments to rock out. Except here we may need about forty different people to match the number of instruments and sounds we hear. Still an excellent example of some hype beats to sink your teeth into.
Bossfight – “Charge”

“Charge” is a song that takes a moment to get going, but gradually builds into a celebration of fast paced beats and wobble. With an almost 90’s like hip hop sped up beat in the background this song truly has a unique feeling to it. Bossfight definitely takes the cake for best EDM artist name on this list, and their song feels like an exciting car chase down a siren filled highway to Dancefestopia. This song creates a great atmosphere that will surely get you amped up!
