The Scoop: Mind Equals Blown is proud to present the premiere of “Stalemate” by Scribble Victory.
The Spin: “Stalemate” comes off of the bands debut EP Confidence which was released on 9 September. Scribble Victory is a two-piece acoustic band hailing from the UK. They have been compared to bands like American Football, Bright Eyes, Bon Iver and Frank Turner. They have toured alongside the likes of Johnny Foreigner, Tall Ships, Laura Stevenson and Ducking Punches.
The song itself sounds like Frank Turner teamed up with Johnny Foreigner to write a song but then invited Neck Deep to join them and help write the song. It is combination of folksy guitars, upbeat noise pop styled drum work and what can be described as typically British angsty pop punk vocals. Just think Neck Deep on “Part of Me” but with less shouting and more singing. The video treats you to a spectacular day out with the band which includes busking in the park, pulling strange faces, dancing and hiding in bushes.
Without any further ado, you can view the video below and be sure to check out their Facebook and Twitter accounts to keep in touch with the band.
