The Scoop: A Cape Town girl takes her dedication to Electric Vines to a new level, by getting the logo tattooed on her arm.
The Spin: Die-hard Electric Vines fan Khylie Robus takes her commitment to the festival to an entirely new level; a level that rather shames a few of us who consider ourselves to be fans of anything. She decided to go out and emblazon her arm with an Electric Vines inspired tattoo. We all know that nothing says devotion and dedication like a tattoo. Except perhaps drunk tattoos but that is story for a different day. The team at Electric Vines agree that a lifelong tattoo shows dedication so they decided to give her a ticket to the festival – a festival that is the New Years Eve party to be at in South Africa.
Yes, this is not the first time somebody has inked their skin in support of a festival but it is quite possibly the first time that somebody has done it for a first time festival.
Khylie comments that the reason for the Tattoo was that after seeing the Electric Vines Facebook competition, which was to share the Festival with as many friends as possible, she believed there was no better way to show her dedication to winning the tickets, and sharing her commitment to Electric Vines, than by permanently inking the Festival on her arm. Khylie, is a big fan of tattoos, and at 25 years old, already has many different designs all over her body. “Mostly memories,” she comments, and her first experience with this form of personal expression was at the tender age of 12 yrs.
Khylie’s favourite band playing at the Festival is Just Jinjer, so she is now counting down the days until she gets to see them live, loud and under the stars at Electric Vines.
Electric Vines is a live music festival taking place at Arabella in the beautiful Robertson Valley in Western Cape on 30 and 31 December 2014. This can’t-miss two-day party provides the perfect setting to celebrate 2014 and bring in the New Year, all the while enjoying the awesome local and international artist line-up under the stars and amongst the vines.
This impressive list of talent already secured to perform include: Prime Circle, Matthew Mole, Sun City (Australia), MonArk, Goodluck, Pascal and Pearce, Just Jinjer, Gangs of Ballet, Jeremy Loops, Jesse Clegg and MC Cath Grenfell.
