Fueled by Ramen artist grandson just announced his debut EP, a modern tragedy vol. 1. The much-anticipated release arrives June 15th, discussing political and social issues that impact himself and his generation.
He told Mind Equals Blown earlier this year, “I want to create music that has a sense of urgency and catharsis that remains in some ways optimistic and empowering, but also addressing the very real sense of urgency that our generation is faced with”.
When asked about the process of creating this album, grandson explained to Mind Equals Blown, “Different songs touch on different parts of my life, be it reflections on whats going on around me socially and politically, or there are other songs that address more how I’m feeling that tackle mental health, so, it was incredibly vindicating to be able to hear all of the ups and downs that I’ve gone through over the last year kind of immortalized on wax. It was really cool, and it taught me a lot through this process that I’m going to take with me and make even better music to come.”
In anticipation of the album, grandson has just released a music video for “Blood // Water”, a single featured on the upcoming EP, streaming below:
In support of the album, grandson will be joining Hobo Johnson and The Love Makers on their upcoming headlining tour starting June 11th, followed by a run of US dates with Joywave and a full US tour with Nothing But Thieves in the fall.
