And to think that I thought all these fireworks around Hong Kong were for Chinese National Day. That’s right folks – Foo Fighters’ leading man Dave Grohl announced through his publicist that the band would be going on a hiatus, but not splitting up.
“I’m not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again,” Grohl said. “It feels strange to say that, but it’s a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It’s one of the reasons we’re still here. Make sense? I never want to not be in this band. So, sometimes it’s good to just … put it back in the garage for a while.”
According to MTV News, this is something Grohl hinted at by telling fans at a New York festival on Saturday, saying “this is the show where we come out and we play as many songs as we can – I don’t know when we’re going to do it again.”
During the hiatus, Grohl said he will be releasing a documentary and album project called Sound City.
It’s not clear when exactly the band will be making music again, but the promise is there that it will happen.
