The Scoop: Pop punk outfit Old Again is scheduled to head out on tour today with fellow act Firestarter, but they are currently experiencing extremely untimely troubles with their van. If they don’t receive some much needed funding soon, they’re going to be forced to drop off the tour. All they’re asking is that you share some of there music and maybe toss them a few dollars if you feel compelled to do so. You check out all of their tunes here and an official statement from the band below.
“Alright guys, so we have some not so good news. We were supposed to leave for tour today, and when we tried to start up the van, it squealed. Very loudly. Come to find out, the idler pulley is bad and the belt snapped because the AC compressor is seized up. This means it’s going to cost us $750 to fix. We never ask for handouts, but we really need your help so we can get going on the road and play this tour. We’ve sacrificed a lot, and put a lot of money, time, and effort into this band. All we’re asking is that you check out our music on bandcamp, and if you like it, buy it. Any amount you could give would help us out. We’ve spent the last 6 months preparing for this tour, and we don’t want to have to cancel any shows. Unfortunately, if we can’t get this fixed asap then we’re going to have to. If you could spread this around even, it would really help out. Thank you guys, and hopefully we’ll see you soon.
The Spin: The first time I saw these guys was this past summer in a small town outside of Chicago in a garage that could fit no more than one car and a handful of personal belongings in it. It was hot, uncomfortable, everything reeked of body-odor and they were thousands of miles away from home.
Despite the less than favorable conditions, they were as humble and welcoming to everyone as could be. They watched the locals play, interacted with all the kids that came out and were just happy to be around people that shared their love of music. If it’s even just a dollar, every little bit helps. This band is trying to do what they love, and they just need a little (well-deserved) help.
The Question: Do you plan on helping the band out? Have you seen them live? Did you get to meet them? Let us know in the comments below!
