The Scoop: Electronic music festival Sonar shall be making its South African debut in Cape Town on 16 December 2014.
The Spin: Created in 1994, Sónar is a pioneering festival with a unique format and content. It’s first class reputation as a leading reference for international festivals is by virtue of a carefully balanced cultural offering, combining a playful nature, the avant-garde, and experimentation with electronic dance music’s newest trends.
Internationally, the music industry and electronic dance enthusiasts have had their eye on Cape Town, which has emerged as a key destination for the electronic music scene. With an increasing flow of the worlds top DJ’s performing in the Mother City annually and now part of Sonar, Cape Town joins a global music network on the pulse of electronic music culture.Sonar fans are people from around the world who share one common appreciation for credible, cutting-edge music.
With a focus on top quality event production, Sonar Cape Town will be held at the iconic Good Hope Centre. The event will play host to leading international artists alongside top local DJ’s and producers.
