The Scoop: Busta Rhymes‘ new single featuring Eminem will be dropping on July 1st! The song is titled “Calm Down” and is produced by Scoop DeVille. From the looks of the badass comic-book inspired cover art, it’ll be an epic battle of lyricism between the two legendary MCs. This is the new single off the Conglomerate General’s upcoming album, Extinction Level Event 2.
The Spin: The long-awaited collaboration by Bus and Em has been talked about for a while. Scoop DeVille did an interview with Vlad TV back in January and described “Calm Down” as the next record that’ll destroy the streets of New York and hip-hop. The Grammy-nominated producer said the song is 6-minutes long and both MC’s spit 60+ bars each. It’s a ballsy and bold move considering the traditional rap verse is only 16 bars. But remember “Rap God”? DeVille ensured fans that the song is very reminiscent of classic Slim Shady and old school Bus. The Los Angeles producer said after hearing Em’s extensive rap, Busta went back in the studio and turned his 16 line rap into 60. Essentially making it a lyrical contest and for that, hip-hop heads thank Eminem.

Busta Rhymes spoked to XXLmag.com and shed more light on the collaboration with Eminem.
“I’ve got a six-minute record with Eminem that sounds like we are respectfully trying to battle each other in a way that you probably never heard us battle in our entire careers on a record.” Busta revealed. “So it’s lot of real incredibly golden moments for us on this project.”
Last night, the Flipmode rapper teased Twitter with a photo of him with the Detroit legend lookin’ tough in the studio. The hip-hop world seems to be ecstatic about hearing “Calm Down” and is fiending for that pure lyricism.
Stay tuned on July 1st for “Calm Down” by Busta Rhymes featuring Eminem, produced by Scoop DeVille!
