The Scoop: It’s M-m-m-m-m-m-m-Maybach Music, double M-G, baby! Wale decided to release a new song called “MMG Under God (Heavenly People)” which is reassuring his loyalty to his record label, Maybach Music Group. Which is a response to the recent Twitter drama that transpired when fellow label-mate Meek Mill called Wale a “cornball” and claimed that he didn’t show support for Meek’s upcoming album, Dreams Worth More Than Money. The DMV rapper lyrically pays respect to his camp and closed the song saying “Free Meek, though. Let’s get it.”
Meek Mill has recently been sentenced to 3 to 6 months due to parole violation.

The Spin: The Twitter rant by Meek came out of no where. Maybach Music Group is one of the most successful and talented rap cliques in the industry, so it surprised fans to see that trouble was brewing within the crew.
Just recently, MMG honcho Rick Ross did an interview with Bullett magazine and cleared the issue.
“It’s a misunderstanding,” Rozay stated. “As soon as the tweets went out, I spoke to both of them on the phone. Those two guys, they’re brothers. At the end of the day, they’re brothers and it’s time to turn up right now. It’s time for all of us to turn up and stay turned up, you know what I mean? But it’s all love between those two and everybody knows that.”
Wale did a good job defusing the situation and letting his music speak his thoughts. “MMG Under God (Heavenly People)” has a very soulfully championing instrumental which comfortably fits Wale as he spits lyrical gems stating his allegiance to his team.
Tone P produced the song and it isn’t clear if it’ll be on Wale’s upcoming LP, The Album About Nothing, which is suppose to be dropping later this year as well as Meek’s Dreams Worth More Than Money.
As soon as we get more updates, we’ll let you know! Other than that, #FREEMEEKMILL
The Question: What do you think about “MMG Under God (Heavenly People)”? Do you think Meek and Wale have beef? Are you excited for their new upcoming albums? Will Meek Mill respond to this song before he goes to jail?
